At present a ISI scientist is expected to teach about one course per semester. A typical class consists of a small group of sincere and inquisitive students. Many teachers admit that their research is often stimulated by questions asked by the students. The Institute houses the best library in Statistics and allied areas in India. The computing facilities are regularly upgraded to keep pace with new technological developments.

Applications are invited for two Project linked persons (one for each of) and one Visiting Scientist to work in the projects entitled (1) "Normalization of Board Marks - Gujrat" and (2) "Normalization of Board Marks - Maharastra". in the area of statistics in the Statistical Quality Control & Operation Research Unit (Central SQC Unit) of the Indian Statistical Institute.
