COLLABORATIVE CAPTURING OF EXPERIENCES WITH UBIQUITOUS SENSORS AND ROBOTS

Abstract

We introduce an intelligent environment for "co-experience communication" using stationary and wearable sensors, and robots. The environment captures many events collaboratively from multiple viewpoints using a combination of stationary sensors that track peopleís behaviors and interactions, and wearable sensors that observe the viewpoints and areas of interactive interest of individual persons. Interaction events are classified into one of several predefined interaction classes, such as "talked_with", "looked_at", etc., and automatically indexed using LED ID tags and receivers. Humanoid communication robots also play a role as assistants to help visitors pay attention to significant events and visitorís interest. Our developing exhibition room is introduced as an example of an intelligent environment.
