Thematic Special Issue of PRL
The ICFHR Organizing Committee approached a number of Journals
including Pattern Recognition (PR), Pattern Analysis and Applications
(PAA), International Journal on Document Analysis and Recognition
(IJDAR) and Pattern Recognition Letters (PRL) for publishing a Special
Issue based on extended versions of a few good papers to be presented
during ICFHR 2010. Unfortunately, the Journals did not find a
suitable slot for the proposed Special Issue in near future. However,
recently we have signed a contract with PRL to bringing out a
thematic Special Issue on “Frontiers in Handwriting Processing” which
will be handled in the second half of 2011 and published in 2012. For
this thematic Special Issue, contributions are needed to be sought
by means of an open call (unlike conference based Special Issues
where, contributors are directly invited by the Guest
Editors). Obviously, contributors to ICFHR 2010 will be invited to
submit to this thematic Special Issue with more work with advanced method
and new results with respect to those presented at the ICFHR 2010 Conference.
