The International Statistical Education Centre (ISEC), was opened in 1950, and is operated by the Indian Statistical Institute, under the Government of India.This Centre has been providing training in Statistics to sponsored students mainly from the countries of the Middle East, South and South East Asia, the Far East and the Commonwealth Countries of Africa.

The Centre also offers various short-term courses in Statistics.
