Hi. My name is Losiana Nayak. I was born on 9th July 1982 in Berhampur, a small town of Orissa. My father named me after a successful lady leader of the then Soviet Union of Russia. My family includes my father Sri Pitabas Nayak, Retired Subinspector, State Police of Orissa, my mother Smt. Suchitra Nayak, housewife, my brother Dr. Devdutta Nayak (Opthalmologist), my husband Mr. Saroj K. Nayak, a banking professional and my cute little son Adityaram(APU).

I have completed my schooling from several rural and semi urban schools of Orissa; Intermediate and Graduation (Zoology) from Fakir Mohan College, Balasore; Master in Bioinformatics degree from Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT), Bhubaneswar. From 2005-2008, I was attached with Machine Intelligence Unit, Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata as a Project Linked Personell. I have done my Ph.D. from University of Calcutta, Kolkata (2008-2013) in Bio-Physics, Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics. At present I am a UGC Post Doctoral Fellow in Machine Intelligence Unit, Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata.
