| Abstract |
| We shall present a proof of FTA using the notion of degree of a smooth map in a way somewaht different than used in algebraic topological proof via winding number. This proof has been traced back to Euler. Euler, in a letter to Alembert wrote a `proof of Fundamental theorem of algebra. Though, from a modern point of view, there are gaps in the proof, the basic idea is to correct the proof involving mapping degree and one can fill the gaps to the standard of our time. |
