| Abstract |
| String topology is the study of the algebraic properties of the homology of the free loop space of a manifold. Such properties are intimately related with the properties of the Hochschild cohomology rings of differential graded algebras and with the symplectic field theory of the cotangent manifold. I will make a survey of these relations and give a brief description of what we have done with the orbifold case. |
