Quantitative and effective questions in real algebraic geometry

Abstract
Real algebraic geometry involves the study of semi-algebraic sets over arbitrary real closed fields. In this talk, I will give a survey of certain quantitative and algorithmic results in real algebraic geometry, and compare them with similar results in complex algebraic geometry. I will also mention certain results in real algebraic geometry which have no counter-parts in complex algebraic geometry.
