An introduction to spatial data would be followed by description of
variogram. But the main objective is to demonstrate two new weight
functions as alternatives to the commonly used weight to be used in
weighted least squares estimation of parameters of valid variogram
functions, for a second order stationary spatial random process. We
investigate the asymptotic convergence properties and the efficiencies of
the corresponding parameter estimates. The theory is validated using
simulations and real data analysis.
