Welcome to BIBL


Biomedical Imaging and Bioinformatics Lab (BIBL) is established to carry out fundamental and advanced research in the fields of biomedical imaging and bioinformatics. Aim of the BIBL is to conduct basic research in pattern recognition, machine learning, soft computing, medical image analysis and processing, computational biology and bioinformatics.



The Lab has been set up at the Ground Floor of S. N. Bose Bhavan (Library Building), Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), Kolkata, India.

  • Aparajita received the best paper award in 3rd International Conference on Computational Intelligence and Networks (CINE2017), India (2017).

  • Our lab alumni Dr. Sushmita Paul received the prestigious BIRD (Bioclues Innovation, Research and Development) Award (2017).

  • Abhirup got the Post Doctoral Fellowship of University of Oxford, UK (2017).

  • Abhirup successfully defended his PhD thesis on 27.03.2017.

  • Abhirup won the prestigious ISCA Young Scientist Award from the Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA) (2017).
