Data Science is truly a multidisciplinary area of study and its successful applications depend on several areas like Statistics, Algorithms, Coding, Data Storage and access, and likes. The present workshop aims to explore the role of two important branches, namely, Statistics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) for successful exploitation of Data Science paradigms. Speakers of this workshop will discuss Basics of Statistics and Probabilities and their implications on Data Science. Similarly, advances in AI algorithms will be discussed in light of Data Science requirements. The workshop also aims to demonstrate how these two branches of science and engineering, namely, Statistics and AI, form the two most important pillars of today’s Data Science.
The workshop aims to update the participants on statistical and AI techniques, along with their foundation, for Data Science. Speakers from academia and industry will make the participants aware of the role of Data Science in solving real life problems. The participants will benefit from the interactions with French as well as Indian speakers who are acclaimed researchers and practitioners in the field of Data Science/Artificial Intelligence. Interactions of the participants with these renowned speakers of the domain will not only meet the technical quests of young minds of Indian students, researchers and practitioners but also possibly open up avenues for future collaboration.
The workshop will be inaugurated in the afternoon on 13th January, 2020. Technical sessions will be for four days, from 14th to 17th January. In total, there will be 14 technical sessions of approximately 90 minutes each. The post-lunch session on 17th are kept reserved for valedictory and networking purposes. Ph. D. scholars and junior faculty members having interest in the area of Data Sciences and industry practitioners are the target participants of this workshop. The speakers will be leading academicians and industry researchers, both from France and India. The list of speakers confirmed as of now are:
