Forensic science is a multi-disciplinary science encompasses knowledge of various domains for criminal justice system. Unlike various forensic related television series, such as CSI, crime files and CID, forensic examination is more challenging and need attention of researchers from various communities. Artificial intelligence and machine learning being the current trends of research of computer science have influenced many fields and forensics is not an exception. The talk has been divided into two parts. In the first part, a brief discussion of current forensic scenario will be made while in the second part; detailed deliberation on multimedia forensics will be made.  Multimedia forensics deals with authentication, identification and enhancement of multimedia data in forensic perspective.
Bio: Rajesh Kumar is M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Forensics. He has been working in the area of automated forensic examination for more than eleven years. His area of research includes Computational Forensics, Biometrics, Image Processing and Pattern Recognition. Currently, Dr. Kumar is working as Head of Forensic Science Department at Institute of Forensic Science, Aurangabad under the Department of Higher and Technical Education, Govt. of Maharashtra.
