   List of Accepted Papers

Some of the important concepts of pattern recognition are being redefined with the advancement of computational intelligence techniques. The pattern recognition community is active in integrating these advancements and in upgrading them to suitable tools tailor made for challenging applications. To recognize these achievements and to provide a platform for researchers and practitioners to deliberate and exchange ideas on advances in pattern recognition, the Electronics and Communication Sciences Unit of the Indian Statistical Institute will be organizing the 7th International Conference on Advances in Pattern Recognition during February 4th - 6th, 2009. The conference will be preceded by a one-day tutorial.

A number of oral paper presentation sessions in the areas of, but not limited to, approximate reasoning, artificial intelligence, atmospheric modeling, bioinformatics, computer vision, digital signal processing (including speech), wave propagation, evolutionary computing, fractals and chaos, fuzzy systems, neuro-computing, computational neuroscience, hybrid systems, image & video processing, visual cryptography, steganography and related mathematical tools & techniques will be organized under four major conference tracks:

All accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings, which will be made available during the conference. Proceedings will be published by IEEE Computer Society.

Location: The conference will be held in the Indian Statistical Institute Campus, which is in the northern fringes of the city of Kolkata. It is close to Kolkata international airport and two important railway termini of eastern India.
