He received
a Bachelor of Statistics (Hons.), Master of Statistics, Master of Technology
in Computer Science, and Ph.D. in Computer Science all from the
Indian Statistical Institute
, Kolkata, in 1985, 1987, 1989 and 1994 respectively.
From 1993 to 1999 he worked as a Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics,
Jadavpur University.
From 1999 to 2010 he worked as an Associate Professor at
the Indian
Statistical Institute, Kolkata and from June, 2009, he is working there as Professor.
He was a recipient of the Young Scientist
Award of the Indian Science Congress Association and the BOYSCAST Fellowship
of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.
His current research interests include Algorithms for Robot Swarms,
Algorithms for Localization of Wireless Sensor Networks, Mobile Computing,
Parallel and Distributed Computing, etc.
