SCOPE

The Workshop titled “Orientation training on Data Visualization” aims at disseminating knowledge about three issues – (a) Complexity of Psychological data set, (b) Uni,Bi and Multivariate data visualization statistical software and (c) Applications of data visualization in health, education and industrial solutions.This workshop will give you insight about Psychological data science. This workshop will be the major point of contact between faculties, researchers, and practitioners in data Visualization.
This workshop will be organized by the Psychology Research Unit, Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata. The unit earlier organized several tutorials on data visualization. Besides, faculties of the unit conducted several faculty development training programs on data visualization in collaboration with universities and research institute across different states of India and abroad. This workshop invites tutorials on following statistics with related data visualization plots.

Probable topics

  1. Descriptive statistics – Barplot, stacked barchart, histogram, pie, density plot
  2. Statistics for outlier detection and Box whisker plot
  3. Correlation, scatter plot and Regression plots
  4. Principal component analysis, biplot, scree plot
  5. Correspondence analysis, correspondence map
  6. Cluster analysis and dendogram, K-means cluster
  7. Neural network theories and plots

Resource Persons

Resource persons will be the Statisticians,Professionals from the Indian Statistical Institute and other institutes, namely, department of statistics, Presidency University, University of Calcutta,Jadavpur University
Eligibility
Faculties, Ph.D. scholars or fellows, Project workers, and practitioners of Psychology, Education, Health, Social, Management and Engineering sciences with Good knowledge about basic statistics.
