Founder of a National Center
Under his leadership the Department of
Science and Technology (DST), Govt. of India has established through its IRHPA
(Intensification of Research in High Priority Areas) scheme the
Center
for Soft Computing Research: A National Facility at ISI. The center, the first of its kind in the country, plays a major
role in the current and future IT perspective of the nation, and provides a strong base
for research and training for both national and international participants with links to
industries and premier institutes in India and abroad.
