Instructions for authors

General information

Sankhya is published in two Series. Series A publishes papers in Probability and Mathematical Statistics and appears in February, June and October. Series B publishes papers in Statistical Methods and Applied Statistics including Quantitative Economics and appears in April, August and December. Series B is mainly intended for analysis of original data of broad interest, novel applications of methodology and development of new methods andtechniques of immediate practical use. We have no backlog of accepted papers. Sankhya papers are abstracted/reviewed in Statistical Theory and Method Abstracts, Mathematical Reviews and Zentralblatt fur Mathematik.


Preparation of manuscripts

Manuscripts must be typed on one side, double-spaced with wide margins. Please consult the latest issue for style. Primary and secondary AMS subject classification numbers and some keywords and phrases should be mentioned at the bottom of the first page. A short title should be given for use as a running title. Present institutional affiliation for each author should be given after each author's name. A self-contained summary not exceeding 120 words is required. Diagrams should be in a form suitable for direct reproduction. Formulae should be numbered consecutively with numbers in brackets appearing on the right margin. Tables should have short explanatory headings and be numbered as Table 1, Table 8, etc. References appearing in the text should be as Roy (1956), Morgan et al. (1972) etc. References at the end should be listed alphabetically. Permanent institutional address of each author should be given at the end. E-mail address if available should be included.


Submission of manuscripts

Manuscripts may be submitted in any one of the ways: (a) Four copies to Sankhya office (b) Postscript file by e-mail or on a 3.5" DOS floppy along with one hard copy to Sankhya ofice. All submissions should include a cover letter. Submitted manuscript must be unpublished work and must not be submitted/under consideration elsewhere for publication.


Reprints

Authors of a published paper receive one copy of the particular issue. The corresponding author also receives the electronic copy of his/her paper. We do not supply reprints.
