Welcome to BIBL


Biomedical Imaging and Bioinformatics Lab (BIBL) is established to carry out fundamental and advanced research in the fields of biomedical imaging, bioinformatics and biomedical data science. Aim of the BIBL is to conduct basic research in pattern recognition, machine learning, deep learning, multi-view learning, computer vision and image understanding.



The Lab has been set up at the Ground Floor of S. N. Bose Bhavan (Library Building), Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), Kolkata, India.

  • Suman received the 3rd prize in the 11th IDRBT Doctoral Colloquium (2021).

  • Aparajita successfully defended her PhD thesis on 19.11.2021.

  • Shaswati successfully defended her PhD thesis on 12.04.2021.

  • Aparajita received the 1st prize in the 10th IDRBT Doctoral Colloquium (2020).

  • Ankita received the 1st prize in the 9th IDRBT Doctoral Colloquium (2019).

  • Ekta received the 2nd prize in the 8th IDRBT Doctoral Colloquium (2018).

  • Partha successfully defended his PhD thesis on 20.11.2017.

  • Aparajita received the best paper award in 3rd International Conference on Computational Intelligence and Networks (CINE2017), India (2017).

  • Our lab alumni Dr. Sushmita Paul received the prestigious BIRD (Bioclues Innovation, Research and Development) Award (2017).

  • Abhirup got the Post Doctoral Fellowship of University of Oxford, UK (2017).

  • Abhirup successfully defended his PhD thesis on 27.03.2017.

  • Abhirup won the prestigious ISCA Young Scientist Award from the Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA) (2017).
