Pattern Recognition Letters
is seeking original and unpublished manuscripts for a Special Issue on Frontiers in Handwriting Processing, scheduled for publication in 2012.

official publication of the International Association for Pattern
Recognition. The goal of this Special Issue is to bring the cutting
edge research work being conducted in the area of computer processing
of human handwriting.
We invite original
contributions that provide novel solutions to challenging problems.
Submitted papers can address theoretical or practical aspects of
progress and directions in handwriting processing research. During the
past years there have been significant progress in a number of areas of
handwriting processing. Contributions of survey articles by leading
researchers are also welcome.

Submission of
manuscripts:

Authors are encouraged to submit their papers electronically by using
online manuscript submission at: http://ees.elsevier.com/patrec/
To ensure
that all manuscripts are correctly identified for inclusion into the
special issue, it is important that authors select the acronym
"Special Issue: FHP" of this special issue when they reach the "Article
Type" step in the submission process.
All papers will be rigorously refereed and will
undergo a very competitive selection process. The length of your
manuscript should not exceed 7000 words, plus the necessary figures and
tables. Papers already submitted or presented in a Conference may be
submitted for this Special Issue provided the authors have obtained
significant new results or developed significant new methods over and
above what was already submitted or presented at a Conference.
