I am currently an Associate Professor in the Interdisciplinary Statistical Research Unit (ISRU), Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), Kolkata, joining the institute in July, 2018.
I received the Master of Statistics (Specialized in Mathematical Statistics & Probability, Ranked 1st) in 2012 and the Bachelor of Statistics (Hons., Ranked 3rd) in 2010, both from Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, with gold medals. Then, I completed my PhD in Statistics from the same institute in 2015 under the guidance of Prof. Ayanendranath Basu and did my postdoctoral research in the Department of Bio-statistics, Institute of Basic Medical Sciences in University of Oslo (UiO), Oslo, Norway.
Besides, I have about 3.5 years of total experience in analytics and application of statistical procedures for solving business problems. I worked as an Assistant Manager of Financial Service Analytics (FSA) at Genpact, Kolkata, India for 1 year, and also as the Research Manager of Quantitative Modelling in the R&D wing of a market research agency, IMRB International, for 2.5 years, receiving several awards of recognition there.
