SECOND INDO-FRENCH WORKSHOP on

Statistics and Artificial Intelligence
for Data Science (SAIDS 2.0)

Bringing together leading researchers from France and India to discuss the latest advances in Statistics, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, while fostering long-term international scientific collaboration.

Event Date November 5-7, 2026
Event Venue Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata

01 The Workshop

The First Indo-French Workshop on Statistics and Artificial Intelligence for Data Science (SAIDS 2020) successfully brought together leading researchers, industry experts, and students from India and France to exchange ideas on emerging developments in Statistics, AI, and Data Science. The high-quality scientific discussions, interdisciplinary interactions, and collaborative links established during the workshop received an enthusiastic response from participants, motivating the organization of SAIDS 2.0.

Data Science today is driven by the complementary strengths of Statistics and Artificial Intelligence. While Statistics provides the theoretical foundation for inference, uncertainty quantification, and decision-making, AI offers powerful tools for learning from complex data. SAIDS 2.0 will feature lectures by leading researchers and practitioners from France and India, representing academia, research laboratories, and industry. The workshop will expose participants to cutting-edge research, real-world applications, and emerging trends while providing an excellent platform for scientific networking, knowledge exchange, and fostering long-term Indo-French collaborations in Data Science and AI.
