Cryptology Research Group
The research at CRG revolutionizes the state of the art in many branches of Cryptology. One can broadly categorize the research at CRG into the following research areas.
Symmetric Key Cryptography
Overview | Areas of Interest |
In symmetric key cryptography, Group members are currently working in cryptanalysis of stream ciphers like RC4, HC 128 etc, and design and study of non-linear boolean functions. |
|
Public Key Cryptography
Overview | Areas of Interest |
Current research in public key cryptography involves cryptanalysis of RSA, design of identity based encryption and signcryption schemes, (im)possibility of basing public key cryptosystems on ideal primitives like trapdoor permutations. |
|
Cryptographic Hash Functions
Overview | Areas of Interest |
In theory of cryptographic hash functions, Group members are working on efficient design as well as security analysis (indifferentiabilty, pre-image awareness etc.) of different modes of operation, new primitives like verifiable random functions, programmable hash functions etc. |
|
Sensor Networks and Broadcast Cryptography
Overview | Areas of Interest |
Group members are working on secure communication and key predistribution in wireless sensor networks and broadcast cryptography. |
|
Coding Theory
Overview | Areas of Interest |
In coding theory and its applications, Group members are currently working on combinatiorial batch codes, locally decodable codes and error correcting data structures. |
