He received the B.Sc. degree in Mathematics Honors from the University of Calcutta, Kolkata, India,
in 1996, the Masters in Computer Application (M.C.A.) degree from the Jadavpur University, Kolkata,
India, in 1999, and the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the Indian Statistical Institute,
Kolkata, India, in 2004.
He is presently a Professor in the Advanced Computing and Microelectronics Unit of the Indian
Statistical Institute, Kolkata, India. Before joining the Indian Statistical Institute, he had worked for
about one and half year as a Research Associate with the School of Computer Science, Cardiff
University, Cardiff, UK. He had also worked for about two years as a Postdoctoral Fellow with the
Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario,
Canada. He also spent about seven months as a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Theoretical Computer
Science, Institute of Mathematical Science, Chennai, India. His current research interests include
mobile computing, wireless networks, D2D communications, Millimeter wave communication, 5G
and beyond cellular networks, UAV trajectory planning, RIS-assisted communications and integrated
sensing and communications.
