The Indian Statistical Institute brings out
the journal Sankhya , the
Indian Journal of Statistics. It was founded in 1933 by P.C. Mahalanobis,
who was its editor until his death. The present editors are
Arup Bose,
Aloke Dey,
and B.V. Rao.
Sankhya is published in two series:
- Series A : This series comes out thrice a year in February, June and
October. The
series deals with papers in probability and mathematical statistics.
- Series B : This series is also published thrice a year in
April, August and December. This series is mainly
intended for analysis of data of broad interest, novel
applications of
methodology, and development of new methods and techniques of immediate
practical use.
