An Automated Differential Trail Search using MILP
Abstract
Differential cryptanalysis is one of the most fundamental approaches of attacking symmetric-key schemes. The most important part of the cryptanalysis is to identify the differential characteristic that can be satisfied with a high probability. Since 2011, the attempt to convert differential trail search problem into a certain type of integer linear programming has been discussed a lot. In this topic, the research history is reviewed and the recent trend to speed up the tool is explained.
