Temporary Membership
For temporary membership (or access to the library), an Indian citizen has to submit proof of identity and a current residential address proof document that has to be submitted to the In-charge of the Circulation Unit. Proof of identity can be any current official document that gives your name, profession, course name & academic session (if applicable), and address of the Institute. Proof of current residential address may be a voter card, current electricity bill, driving license, recent bank statement, pension book, etc. One can download the Forms .
By the act of using any facility of the Library, a user agrees to abide by the rules and regulations framed by the Institute. S/he has to follow the policy guidelines (as adopted by ISI) and academic ethos to avoid unethical practices. Additional charges may be applicable for special service demands.

Library hours:
- Monday to Friday (10:00 AM–8:30 PM).
- Holidays, including Saturdays and Sundays (10 AM to 6:00 PM), except the four national holidays on 26th January, Holi-day, Mayday, 15th August, and 2nd October

Please complete this form with all required information. Submit the form with signatures to get here with a valid government or university photo ID to the Library Circulation Desk in the ISI Kolkata Library.
Requests will NOT be processed if any of the information below is not provided. Personal data held by the library will be kept confidential. It may only be supplied to appropriate parties that provide services to the Library upon the approval of the Chief Librarian.
*No subscription fee is applicable to ISI Staff members, Visiting Scientists, and Office Bearers of the ISI. A variety of entitlement is applicable to students, scholars, and faculties of the Institute.
